WINE SCHOOL
Join us in the Small Hours dining room on Sundays from 3:30 to 5:00 PM as we explore every corner of the wine world — from how to taste, to the many regions and styles under the sun.
Each ticket includes a guided tasting led by sommelier and owner Sarina Garibović, a flight of wines tailored to the class theme, and snacks from our kitchen. We’ll also welcome special guests and industry friends from time to time, so bring a pal and be part of the community.
Class themes rotate monthly. Tickets are released in bundles, keep an eye on your inbox for first access!
We talk about the Loire Valley as one large region, but since it contains 87 appellations, breaking it up into five relatively distinct areas creates more clarity. Not just in style and grape variety, but context for the rich history of the region. This is why we’re breaking this Wine School topic into two months. In August we’ll learn about and taste the wines of the Pay Nantais and Anjou-Saumur (think Muscadet and Savennieres) and in September, Touraine and the Central Vineyards (the famous Chinon and Sancerre).
Once we have these broad strokes, the fun of becoming familiar with the producers and styles that don’t fit the mold begins. In familiarizing ourselves with the new, the old is never far behind, with many of the most exciting producers of the Loire focusing on varieties with a long history in the region and traditional winemaking. If you love a lecture style class with lots of information and maps (!), this one is definitely for you.

Wine School: WORLD OF WINE Three-Part Series
The World of Wine three part series is designed to build step by step. Each class includes four wines and snacks from the kitchen and is conversational, small, and rooted in our approach to hospitality.
The series begins with Wine 101, introducing tasting, language, and style. Beyond the Basics delves into structure, style, and place. The final class, Putting It All Together, serves as a capstone, covering label and list reading, trusting your palate, and building a versatile home collection.
The full series is available for $165 per person — a 15% savings compared with individual classes.
Part I — Wine 101: How to Taste & Talk About Wine
The first session introduces the fundamentals in a relaxed, approachable way. We’ll taste five wines with snacks from the kitchen, using them to explore how to approach a glass with intention, notice what you taste, and describe it naturally. Along the way, you’ll learn the main styles of red, white, and sparkling and gain simple tools for pairing wine with food.
By the end of the class, you’ll walk away with confidence tasting and describing wine, practical strategies for navigating a wine list, and a sense of curiosity and enjoyment rather than rules or pressure.

Part II — Beyond the Basics: Structure, Style, and Place
This session builds on the foundations from Wine 101. With a flight of four wines and snacks from the kitchen, we’ll explore what gives wine its character — structure, balance, and style — and how climate, soil, and winemaking choices shape flavor. You’ll also spend time recognizing your own palate preferences and why they matter, as well as learning to articulate more nuanced qualities in wine.
After this class, you’ll have a deeper understanding of how wines differ and why, more confidence exploring new wines on your own, and a foundation to bring into the final, capstone session.

Part III — Putting It All Together: Living With Wine
The final session is the capstone of the series, tying together everything from the previous classes. Four wines and snacks from the kitchen guide a conversation about how structure, style, and place interact in a glass. We’ll focus on reading wine labels and lists with confidence, trusting your palate, and understanding why your preferences matter more than rules. You’ll also gain tools for stocking a small but versatile home collection and a perspective on how climate and wine-growing regions influence flavor.
By the end of this class, you’ll walk away with confidence in tasting, describing, and choosing wine at home or in a restaurant, practical skills for navigating labels and lists, and a reflective, confidence-building perspective to carry into the new year.
