FAQs

WHERE DO I ORDER?

Order at the bar! We will bring food and wine out to you when it’s ready. If we’re at your table or nearby, don’t hesitate to wave us down, we’re happy to answer questions or grab a quick order to save you a trip.

DO YOU TAKE Reservations?

No reservations, just walk in and have a seat at an available table. If nothing is available upon your arrival, we encourage you to grab a glass at the bar, guests are often able to find a seat within 10-15 minutes.

what is the wine list like?

The wine list at Small Hours focuses on bottles. We believe the experience of drinking a bottle of wine over the course of a visit is the best way to get to know not just a specific wine,  but also get a feel for a producers style. Wines reflect producers who farm and make wine intentionally, whether that is championing a lesser known variety, taking great care to protect the earth, or dedication to a particular style.

do you have non alcoholic options?

Yes, we love enjoying sparkling teas, herbaceous Italian sodas and more between bottles of wine. We always feature at least two options that we feel proud to offer and in the month of January, we are adding even more to choose from. We view these alternatives as a natural compliment to wine enjoyment and don’t want anyone to miss out on a laid back evening with pals at Small Hours.

what kind of music do you play?

From global obscurities and far out jazz records, to the big hits of the past and the present, there is good music to be found everywhere. Some nights we focus on full records from the depths of an artist’s catalog, but don’t be surprised when you hear a string of tunes that jumps from Alice Coltrane to Can to Curtis Mayfield, Steve Reich, King Tubby, The Blue Nile and Joni Mitchell. The goal is to present a wide range of music that moves you.

WHAT IS YOUR TIPPING POLICY?

Due to MN legislation that went into effect on January 1st, Small Hours was forced to move to a gratuity model until we can determine a better way forward. Beginning on March 1st, 2025 we will apply a 3% credit card processing fee to checks paid by credit card. The amount of this charge does not exceed the credit card processing fees incurred by Small Hours. Folks who wish to pay by cash will not be charged this processing fee.

We are committed to a supportive and competitive wage for our support team and our intent is to avoid raising prices.
